The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) Judiciary Proposes to Implement the Courthouse Security Project Which Serves the Purpose of Addressing Critical Security Needs by Reinforcing, Hardening, and Enhancing Essential Security Measures at the Judiciarys Courthouse Facilities on the Islands of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. the Judiciarys Current Security System and Infrastructure Are Outdated, and With Increasing Caseloads and Growing Services, It Is Essential to Enhance the Courts Surveillance Systems and Access Control Mechanisms. the Funding Provided Will Enable the Judiciary to Implement Project Activities That Focus on Comprehensive Security Measures and Enhancements, Including 1) Securing Access Points With Door Hardening and Upgraded Door Lock Keycard System; 2) Installation of Advanced Security Camera Systems; 3) Installation of Perimeter Fencing Around the Courthouses; and 4) Modernization and Repair of the Holding Cell Elevator at the Guma Hustisia Building for the Secured Transport of Detainees Into the Courtrooms. Expected Outcomes Include the Overall Security Enhancement at the Judiciarys Courthouses on All Three Islands; Reinforcing the Initiative of Safeguarding Both Court Personnel and Patrons; and Continuing the Judiciarys Efforts to Meet National Standards by Enabling the Judiciary to Implement the Recommendations Provided by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (cisa).
