The Windsor Central School District Is Located in Broome County, New York and Serves 1,650 Students in Grades PREK-12. the Proposed Project Will Address the Districts Need to Provide Additional Mental Health Supports for Students, While Also Working to Improve Equity and Inclusion in the District, in Order to Reduce the Risk of Violence. Major Components of the Project Including Hiring One Additional Social Worker and One Additional School Psychologist; Training for Teachers and Aides in Grades PREK-5 in Responsive Classroom; Training for Teachers and Aides in Grades 6-12 in the Language of Possibility; and Training for 10 Staff Members in Behavior Solutions; and Inclusion of a District Dei Team (diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) in Providing Feedback on Project Progress in Order to Ensure That the Project Is Delivering Equitable Services for All Students. Objectives of the Project Include: Objective 1: Every Student in Need of Mental Health Services Receives School-based Services And/or a Referral to an Outside Agency as Appropriate as Soon as the Need Is Identified Objective 2: There Will Be a Reduction in Violent Student Behavior (as Measured by Disciplinary Records) by 10% Each Year of the Project, as Compared to the 2022-2023 Baseline Objective 3: the Percentage of High School Students Responding With Disagree or Strongly Disagree to the Statement I Feel Like I Belong on the Annual School Climate Survey Will Be Reduced by 2 Percentage Points Each Year of the Project, From the Baseline of 25% Objective 4: the Percentage of Teachers in the Elementary Buildings Who Respond With Disagree or Strongly Disagree to the Statement This School Provides Quality Counseling or Other Services to Help Students With Social or Emotional Needs on the Annual School Climate Survey Will Be Reduced by 2 Percentage Points Each Year of the Project, From the Baseline of 23-26% Objective 5: 100% of Teachers and Teacher Aides Will Be Trained in Either Responsive Classroom or Language of Possibility (approximately 200 People) Objective 6: at Least 24 Teachers and Teacher Aides Will Participate in Book Study Around Language of Possibility Objective 7: 10 Instructional Staff and 4 Administrators Will Be Trained in the Behavior Solutions PLC Model of Addressing Attendance, Behavior, and Equity
