Kankakee Police Department and the Kankakee County Sheriff's Department Are Filling a Joint Request for the Jag Grant Funding Program. the Kankakee Police Department Will Utilize the Funds to Replace and Upgrade Present Laptop Computers and Citation Printers in the Patrol Vehicles. All of the Technology Equipment That Will Be Purchased Should Endure Environmental and Daily Wear That a 24/7 Public Service Entity Provides in Regard to Police Operational Demands. the Computers Provide the Department With Required Reporting Abilities, Access to Local and Stated Databases, Cad Dispatching Information, and Are Needed to View In-car Camera Videos. Laptop Computers, Along With Audio/video Technology in Squad Cars, Allow Officers to Remain in the Field to Gather Information, Complete Reports, and Receive Assigned Calls From the Dispatch Center. This Equipment Will Serve the City of Kankakee and Its Diverse Community With a Better and More Reliable Police Service and Response to Call for Assistance. All the Information Gathered Along With the Audio/video Systems Greatly Helps the Local, State, and Federal Court Entities With Resources to Better Serve Their Respective Communities as Well.
