Marion County Sheriffs Office Continuation, Process Analysis, and Expansion Proposal Abstract the Marion County Sheriffs Office (MCSO) Submits a Proposal for Their Continuation, Process Evaluation, and Expansion Project for Priority Area 3 of the Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program. This Project Will Meet the Following Progran Priority Considerations: (1) the Mcso, Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center (sandra Eskenazi), and Health Management Associates, Inc. Will Work Collaboratively to Administer the Program, and (2) Priority Will Be Given to Serving Female Offenders With Mental Health Disorders Who Are Incarcerated in the Marion County Adult Detention Center. the Mcso Will Serve as the Lead Applicant With Sandra Eskenazi, a Subrecipient, Serving as the Mental Health Partner. the Target Population for This Project Is Individuals Screened and Assessed to Be Suffering From MHDS or Mhsuds. This Project Will Target Marion County With Approximately 971,102 Residents. the Countys Racial Makeup Is White: 605,967 (62.4%); Black or African American Alone: 287,446 (29.6%); Two or More Races: 31,075 (3.2%); Asian: 40,786 (4.2%); American Indian or Alaskan Native: 4,856 (0.5%); and Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander 972 (0.1%). Over 11% of the Population Is of Hispanic/latino Ethnicity. Funds Will Be Used to Continue Providingand Enhancing Internal Re-entry Capabilities With the Mcso to Better Prepare Participants to Re-enter the Community and Reduce Recidivism Among Individuals With Mental Health Disorders or Cooccurring Mental Health/substance Use Disorders, and Provide a Strong Mental Health/addiction Services Continuum. Additionally, Funding Will Be Used to Evaluate the Programs Current Operations, Recognize Potential Opportunities for Growth and Expansion Within the New High-tech Community Justice Center, Develop a Model of Care for Participants Within the Marion County Adult Detention Center, and Implement Improved Processes Based on the Analysis Findings. This Project Also Intends to Develop a System to Increase Post-release Engagement Among Participants. This Project Requests $550,000 in Federal Funding With $231,250 in Matching Funds. the Mcso Is a Previous Category 3 Justice and Mental Health Recipient, Award Number 2019-MO-BX-0017.
