Objectives Include: to Examine the Past Ten Years of Reform at the Pretrial Phase of Case Processing; Identify the Most Current Research on Risk Assessments With a Focus on Disparate Practices (e.g., Race); Identify Data-informed Strategies at the Local and State Level; and Identify How the General Public Views Pretrial Practices and Barriers to System Change From Internal and External Pretrial Stakeholders. Rulo Strategies Brings Over Twenty-eight Years of Criminal Justice Experience That Spans From a Practitioner to a National Consultant. the Fellow's Career Includes Field Experience, Leadership of a Local Pretrial and Probation Agency, State-level Influence Through Association Work, and Most Recently, Five Years as a Consultant Working on Improving Criminal Justice Practices at the National Level. the Applicant’s Interest in Pursuing a Fellowship in Pretrial Is Driven by the Desire to See a Fair and Just System. the Applicant Requested Ojp's Priority Consideration to Advance Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities.
