Project Abstract Category of Funds Requested: This Is an Enhancement Grant for an Adult Drug Court That Serves Rural Dallas County, Alabama. Participants Are Enrolled Pre-adjudication. Priority Consideration: 1(A). This Proposal Will Address the Issues Related Barriers to Access and Opportunity for the Citizens of Dallas County Who Have Been Historically Underserved. (page 16). Miah.jacksondccs@outlook.com. (334) 431-5556 Total Federal Funds Requested: $275,000 Per Year for Five Years. Current Maximum Capacity of the Applicant Drug Court and Increase in Capacity: the Current Adult Drug Court Has the Capacity to Serve 20 High Risk/high Need Offenders, But It Is Not Able to Provide Employment Readiness Training, Transportation, or Mat. the Funds Requested Would Provide Access to These Enhancements. Total Number of Participants and Length of Participation: the Project Will Serve 35 Individuals Per Year, Totaling 175 Individuals Over the Five-year Award Period. the Average Length of Participation Will Be 12 Months, With a Nine-month Minimum and a Twenty-four Month Maximum. All of the County’s Non-violent Offenders Will Be Screened for Participation in the Program. Target Population: Individuals Who Are Charged With Property or Drug Felony Offenses Will Be Screened and Accessed for Criminogenic Risk/high Need and the Need for Substance Abuse Treatment. the Court Has Access to Medication Assisted Treatment Through the Treatment Provider. Adult Drug Court Best Practice Standards: the Project Will Incorporate Several Evidencebased Program Principles That Are Further Described in the Narrative Including: a) Target Population (page 2); B) Incentives and Sanctions (PAGES3-4); C) Drug and Alcohol Testing (pages 3,10); D) Substance Abuse Treatment (pages 6,14); and E) Role of Judge (PAGE10-11). Data Collection and Reporting: the Project Will Implement a System That Will Be Used to Collect and Report Data That Can Be Used for Program Monitoring and Evaluation. Data Collection Will Begin at Screening and Will Continue for Program Graduates for One Year Following Graduation. Data Will Be Entered Into Bja’s Performance Measurement Tool. Other Federal Support: the Project Will Not Seek Other Federal Support for the Project.
