The Proposed Project “as 17 Body-worn Camera Program” Will Serve Broward County, the County With the Second Largest Population in Florida With 1,930,983 Residents. the Project Will Be Housed in the Broward State Attorney’s Office 17TH Judicial Circuit in the Digital Evidence Unit (deu), and Will Serve the Following Congressional Districts: 20,22, 23, and 24 Serving All Jurisdictions in Broward County the Project Period Will Begin October, 2022 and Will End September, 2025 for a Total of 36 Months. the Broward State Attorney’s Office Proposes to Promote the Documentation, Development, and Sharing of Best Practices to Improve Prosecution Decision Making and Increase the Likelihood of Successful Outcomes. the Program Will Have Seven Specific Objectives Linked to the Overall Goal. the Objectives Will Emphasize the Creation of a BWC Taskforce, Improvement of Effective Use of Digital Evidence, Improvement in Prosecutorial Decision Making, Improvement on Prosecutorial Outcomes, as Well as Maintaining an Open Line of Communication With the Tta Provider and Ensuring All Policies and Procedures Developed by the BWC Taskforce Are Consistent With Local and State Law. the Proposed Program Will Create a BWC Task Force With Representatives From All Leas in Broward County, the Broward Sheriff Office, Tribal Leas, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and the Florida Highway Patrol to Develop New Policies When Needed and Share Promising Practices and Lesson Learned With Other Agencies. the Assistant State Attorneys at the SA17 Will Be an Integral Part of the Program and Will Contribute to the Overall Improvement of Practices by Contributing Information on How the Use of BWC Has Helped to Improve the Use of Digital Evidence Resulting in Improved Prosecutorial Outcomes. the Project Will Benefit All Units of the Broward State Attorney’s Office, Local and Statewide Law Enforcement Agencies, the Broward Sheriff Office, Tribal Law Enforcement Agencies and the Community at Large.
