The Grants to Prevent and Respond to Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking, and Sex Trafficking Against Children and Youth Program Supports Comprehensive, Community-based Efforts to Develop or Expand Prevention, Intervention, Treatment, and Response Strategies to Address the Needs of Children and Youth Impacted by Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking, and Sex Trafficking, Including Support for Their Non-abusing Parents, Caregivers, and Legal Guardians. With This Grant Funding, S.a.f.e. Place Will Implement This Project to Enhance and Expand Existing Youth Prevention Programs That Address Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking, and Sex Trafficking in Calhoun County, the Southwest Region of Michigan. Mou Partners on This Project Include Bronson Battle Creek Hospital and Battle Creek Public Schools. This Continuation Project Will: 1) Maintain a Full Time Prevention Educator Role to Lead the Initiative and Collaborate With the Community Educator at Sexual Assault Services; 2) Maintain an Outreach Counselor Role, and Hire an Additional Educator to Serve Partly as a Victim Advocate to Provide Victim Services to Youth; 3) Maintain and Strengthen the Current Coordinated Community Response Team to Include a Comprehensive Group of Community Partners From Law Enforcement, Protective Services, Juvenile Detention, Healthcare, and Youth Serving Organizations; 4) Continue to Implement Multi-session, Trauma-informed, and Developmentally Appropriate Prevention Programs and Workshops; 5) Continue Trauma-informed Training to Law Enforcement, Prosecutors, Courts, and Schools to Assist in Investigations and Prosecutions; 6) Develop a Comprehensive Training on Types of Tech-facilitated Abuse, Prevention and Response Strategies, Best Practices in Responding to Perpetrators and Victims, and Understanding Long-term Mental Health Impacts, in Partnership the Local Prosecutors Office and Law Enforcement Internet Crimes Unit; 7) Continue to Develop and Implement School-based Policies, Practices, and Programs to Prevent and Respond to Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking, and Sex Trafficking; 8) Increase Awareness of the Project by Circulating Approved Materials Including a Family-focused Brochure; and 9) Track Attitudes and Behaviors Changes With Approved Surveys for Adult and Youth Training, Tracking Program Progress With Detailed Attendance Logs, Meeting Minutes, and Tracking the Increase of Victim Service Delivery by Maintaining Appropriate Documentation and Internal Database Use. This Project Addresses the Program-specific Priority of Technology-facilitated Abuse. the Timing for Performance of This Award Is 36 Months.
