Quartz Valley Indian Reservation

The Grants to Indian Tribal Governments Program Assists Tribal Governments, and Authorized Designees of Tribal Governments, to 1) Decrease the Incidence of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Sex Trafficking, and Stalking in Tribal Communities; 2) Strengthen the Capacity of Tribes to Exercise Their Sovereign Authority to Respond to These Violent Crimes; and 3) Ensure That Perpetrators of These Violent Crimes Are Held Accountable for Their Criminal Behavior. the Quartz Valley Indian Reservation Is a Federally Recognized Tribe Located in Northern California in Sisikiyou County. the Taking Care of Our Sisters, a Program of the Quartz Valley Indian Reservation Tribal Government, Works to Address Violence Against American Indian/alaska Native Women by Providing Emergency Shelter, Victim Advocacy Services, and Community Outreach and Education on Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking, and Sex Trafficking. With This Funding the Taking Care of or Sisters Program WILL:1) Expand Existing Services to Include Supervised Visitation in a Safe, Controlled Setting; 2) Provide Community Education and Prevention Campaigns; 3) Maintain the Emergency Shelter Program; 4) Continue and Enhance Direct Victim Advocacy Services Including Support for Basic Crisis Intervention Needs and Transportation; 5) Ensure and Increase Community Coordination and Collaboration Including Training for Staff, Allied Professionals Within the Tribal Government, and Community Partners. the Quartz Valley Indian Reservation Has Partnered With Siskiyou Domestic Violence & Crisis Center, a Local Non-profit, to Plan This Project. the Timing for Performance of This New Award Is 36 Months.
