The Guilford County Sheriffs Office (GCSO) Will Use FY24 Safer Outcomes to Provide De-escalation Training for All Sworn Deputies, and Their Support Personnel the Detention Officers in the Two County Jails. Furthermore, Ten Personnel Will Take the Train the Trainer Courses in Order to Continue Teaching De-escalation to New Personnel as They Onboard, and Provide Refresher Training as Needed to Current Personnel. Our Grant Focus Areas Are De-escalation Tactics and Alternatives to the Use of Force, and Safely Responding to an Individual Experiencing a Mental or Behavioral Health or Suicidal Crisis.
