2023 Cops School Violence Prevention Program: Active Incident Management and Student Protection Kane School Districts Application for the SVPP Grant Is Intended to Provide the Much Needed Funding of Improved Safety Protocols, Including a District-wide Purchase and Implementation of Aim Active Incident Management Platform, Swift Shield Discreet Ballistic Protection and E.s.c.a.p.e. Active Shooter Training. as Mass Casualty Events Such as School Shooter Incidents and Threats Increase, Kane SD Has Also Been Impacted. Threats Requiring Sro Intervention Have Increased 500%. Should This Worst-case Scenario Occur, Accurate and Focused Communication and Ballistic Protection Are Proven to Save Lives. Products and Training Solutions That Offer Staff and Students Significantly Improved Odds of Surviving Such Events Are in Use by Other School Districts in Our State. Kane SD Hopes to Implement These Same Tools to Upgrade Our Preparation, Mitigation and Resolution of Active Emergency Incidents. the Better First Responders and School Personnel Are Able to Discern...threats and React Swiftly, the More Lives Can Be Saved...this Is Why It Is Critical That Schools Work With First Responders, Emergency Management Staff, and All Community Partners to Identify, Prepare, Prevent, and Effectively Respond to an Active Shooter Situation in a Coordinated Fashion. Guide for Developing High-quality School Emergency Operations Plans (u.s. Department of Education, U.s. Department of Health and Human Services, U.s. Department of Homeland Security, U.s. Department of Justice and the Federal Emergency Management Agency) 2013. the Products to Be Introduced Into Kane SD Will Meet These Needs in a Non-intrusive Way That Fosters a Safe Learning Environment While Also Protecting the Privacy and Lives of Our Students. This Award Aids in Expanding the Climate of Safety and Security in Our Schools by Introducing the Easy Communication of Potential Emergency Scenarios Between the Campus Safety Teams Members, School Staff, Law Enforcement, Eocs, Dispatch and Other First Responders When Appropriate. All This Without Causing Undue Stress to Students or Interrupting Classroom Learning, Unless Absolutely Necessary. Additionally, the Award Will Provide the Acquisition of Ballistic Shields That Are Stowable Out of Sight But Readily Accessible, and Expand to Provide Additional Protection During a Mass Shooting Event. This Proposal Provides Aim, Swift Shields and E.s.c.a.p.e. Active Shooter Training for 7 Schools in Kane School District Which Incorporates the Kane County Area. It Will Impact Over 1,424 Students Including 51.25% in Elementary and 45% in Secondary Levels Which Come From Low-income Homes. Kane SD Will Work With Aegix Global, Who Will Provide Former Law Enforcement Members as Subject-matter Experts to Coordinate and Implement These Tools With School Campus Safety Team Leaders and Community Partners. the Award Will Deliver 75% of the Funds Needed to Provide Both Products as Well as On-campus Risk Assessment and Train-the-trainer Service Individualized for Each School Campus, Incorporating Them Into Existing Safety Management Plans Easily as Well as Improving the Longevity of Implementation Beyond the Term of Award. Kane SD Will Utilize Funding From Partnered Entities for the Remaining 25% of the Required Funds.
