Dorchester School District Two Needs a State of the Art School Bus Video Surveillance System to Replace an Archaic System. the Behaviors by Students Riding Our Buses Is Steadily Degrading and We Intend to Employ This Technology to Help Us Identify Misconduct, Including Potentially Criminal Misconduct, and Dangers to Students. It Will Allow School Administrators Access to Objective Investigative Evidence and to Apply Appropriate Remediation. We Anticipate This Will Enhance the Safety on the Buses for All Riders, the Safety at Schools by Detering Misbehaviors, Including Transportation of Illegal Items Such as Drugs and Weapons, and Enhance the Overall Learning Enviornment for All Students. These Systems Will Augment Our Existing Programs and Collaborative Efforts With the Local Community and Law Enforcement Agencies to Bolster Safety Measures and Improve the Climate at Our Schools. by Effectively Employing These Systems, We Can Make the Bus Rides Safer and More Peaceful, Reducing the Anxieties of Other Students and the Parents, Which Will Greatly Enhance Student Chances for Successful Learning by Providing a More Positive and Secure Learning Environment.
