ST. Johns County Sheriffs Office Will Use Lemhwa Grant Funds to Contract With a Mental Health Professional. With Their Expertise This Person Will Build a Mental Health Program to Include But Not Limited to the Following Initiatives: - Quarterly 15-20 Minute Check-ins With an MHP Accessing Areas in the Agency Such as Records, Major Crimes Unit, Special Victims Unit, Victims Advocates, Crime Scene Technicians, Etc. -quarterly Retreats, Workshops & Classes -debriefs & Aars With Shifts After Incidences, And/or Deployments -identifying Candidates for Attendance at First Responder Conferences -relationship Building With Community Partners & Agencies. the Premise of the Current Sjso Wellness Pillar of Mental Health Program Is to Provide Multiple Layers of Resources Ranging From Faith Based Counseling, to Educational Campaigns, to Legal Support, Embedded Mental Health Professionals (MHPS), Access to Health Advocates, a Family Support Network (under Development), Agency Peer to Peer, External Peer to Peer, Suicide Prevention, as Well as Inpatient & Outpatient Treatment Center Partnerships. Cops Funding Will Exponentially Enhance Our Current Wellness Initiative by Enabling Our Agency to Continue Our Focus on the High Impact Wellness Pillars of Mental Health and Allow Our Program to Expand. Our Agency Strongly Anticipates This Comprehensive Program Will Produce Best Practices That Can Be Shared and Replicated Locally and Further Afield.
