This Project Will Provide Training That Meets the Goals of the Protecting Our Lives by Initiating Cops Expansion (POLICE) Act Under the Cops Pass Program. Alerrt (advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training) at Texas State University, Will Provide a National, Innovative, Original, Cross-disciplinary Active Shooter Training Regimen Geared Toward Law Enforcement, Fire, Ems, and Civilians to Bolster Public Safety and Preparedness During an Active Shooter/attack Event. Alerrt Has Substantial Experience Developing and Delivering Such Courses Nationwide Utilizing a Cost-effective Delivery Method. Alertt Will Deliver 235 Hands-on Training Classes and Support an Additional 7200 Hours of Indirect Trainings That Will Train Up to 16,755 First Responders Across the United States in Integrated Response to Active Shooter Events During the Life of the Grant. These Classes Are Also Designed to Bolster Police Engagement With Their Communities to Better Prepare for Disaster Response. We Will Utilize Our Proven Train-the-trainer Methodology to Develop the Capacity of the Agencies to Self-sustain the Knowledge and Skills That They Develop. All Training Will Be Delivered at No Cost to the Trainees and Their Agencies.
