Description:this Grant Will Provide Funding to Rehabilitate and Structurally Strengthen Several Deteriorating Combined Sewer Segments of Various Sizes in the Piney Branch Sewershed With the Use of Trenchless Rehabilitation Technologies and Methods. the Piney Branch Sewershed Is Located Within the Upper Northwest Section of the District of Columbia. the Scope and Environmental Effects of the Proposed Project Were Identified in Categorical Exclusion Decision CE-DC-1-2022 Issued August 16, 2022. Activities:the Activities to Be Conducted Under the Proposed Project Were Identified in Categorical Exclusion Decision CE-DC-1-2022 Issued August 16, 2022, and Include: Structural Rehabilitation Using Geopolymer Lining System (GLS) on Approximately Thirteen Thousand Eight Hundred (13,800) Linear Feet of Combined Sewer Pipes of Various Sizes and Shapes With Associated Internal Point Repairs and Lateral Pipe Reinstatements; Two (2) Open Cut Point Repairs; Two (2) Internal Point Repairs on 90-INCH Diameter Sewers; Structural Rehabilitation Using Geopolymer Lining System (GLS) on Five (5) Junction Chambers; Rehabilitation of Seventy-two (72) Existing Manholes With Various Rehabilitation Methods, Including Geopolymer Lining System, Step Replacement, Grade Ring Replacement, and Frame and Cover Replacement; Construction of Three (3) New Manholes; Abandonment of Approximately Four Hundred (400) Linear Feet of 36- Inch to 51-INCH Diameter Pipelines and One (1) Junction Chamber at Sherman Circle NW Within National Park Service (NPS) Property; and, Sewer Bypass Pumping, Dewatering, Erosion and Sediment Control, Traffic Control, and Restoration of Project Site. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:this Project Will Restore the Function of an Integral Part of the Sewage Conveyance System in the Piney Branch Section of the District of Columbia and Will Increase the Reliability of the System to Convey and Transport Sewage Across the City to Be Adequately Treated at the Blue Plains Wastewater Treatment Plant. the Beneficiaries Are the Residents of the District of Columbia.
