Description:this Action Provides Funding in the Amount of $102,510 to Assist Livable Buckhead Inc in Providing a Competitive Composting Program to 15 Multifamily Buildings in the Buckhead, Atlanta Area, Addressing a Critical Gap in Access to Composting Services for Apartment Residents. Activities:the Grantee Will Purchase and Provide Bins and Educational Materials to Tenants in 15 Apartment Buildings in Buckhead, Atlanta. They Will Facilitate the Education, Competition Between Each Building, and Ensure That Metrics Are Being Recorded. Their Objectives Include Increasing Composting Access in Multifamily Homes; Achieve High Engagement and Participation Rates; Educate Residents and Property Managers on Composting and Sustainability; Demonstrate Measurable Environmental Impact; and Position Composting as a Valued and Expected Amenity. Each Month, the Composting Service Will Track Key Metrics Included Waste Diverted, Emissions Avoided, and Compost Created, Allowing Buildings to Compete for Top Performance. the Program Will Also Provide Two Community-wide Events to Deepen Tenant Engagement Through Hands-on Experience Which Will Connect Multifamily Residents to the Benefits of Composting While Celebrating the Impact of Their Efforts. Waste Will Be Diverted From the Landfill Through This Project Which Will Avoid Emissions by Avoiding Decay in a Landfill.subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Grantee Will Provide the Following Outputs and Outcomes for the Buckhead Community in Atlanta: 15 Buildings Brought Into Composting Challenge Reaching at Least 9,000 Buckhead Residents; Reach 9,000 Residents With Educational Materials to Successfully Contribute to the Composting Program; Host 15 In-person Tenant Engagement Activities at Each Participating Building; Ensure at Least 30% of Tenants Across All Participating Buildings Actively Engage With Composting Program and 50% by the End of the Year (measured by Amount of Food Waste Per Building); Development of 12 Educational Messages About Composting Presented to Residents via Newsletters, Elevator Displays, and Social Media; at Least 500,000 Pounds of Waste Diverted; Engage at Least 1,000 Residents at Community Event; Utilize 1/4 of the Total Compost Created via the Competition in Community Planting Activities.
