Description:this Action Provides Funding in the Amount of $1,022,213 to the Southeastern States Air Resource Managers, Inc. (sesarm), a Consortium Supporting the Efforts of the Southeastern States and Local Air Pollution Control Agencies in Region 4, Virginia, and West Virginia to Implement Their Air Pollution Control Programs. Sesarm Provides Support to Its Member Agencies in Their Efforts to Enhance Their Technical Knowledge via Staff Training and Provides Support by Assisting the Air Agencies in Completing Required Ambient Air Planning Activities Focused on Meeting National Ambient Air Quality Standards. Activities:the Southeastern States Air Resource Managers, Inc. (SESARM) Will Provide Support to Member Agencies in Their Efforts to Prepare and Implement Detailed State Implementation Plans (SIPS) for Criteria Air Pollutants and Regional Haze. the Scope of the Technical Work to Be Funded With This Grant Will Be Expanded as Necessary to Incorporate Analysis of Ozone and Fine Particulate Levels and Potential Corrective Measures Needed to Meet Revised Ambient Air Quality Standards. Sesarm Will Plan and Offer in Person and Remote, Instructor Led Training Courses in Response to Surveyed Needs of Its Member Agencies. Sesarm Will Plan and Host Semi Annual Meetings Each Year Involving Local and State Air Pollution Control Agency Directors and Staff, Epa Staff, Speakers, and Other Invitees, and Plan and Host Periodic Program Workshops Throughout the Project Period, the Costs of Which Will Be Covered by Event Registration Fees.subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Southeastern States Air Resource Managers, Inc. (SESARM) Will Provide Indirect Support to Its Member Agencies by Overseeing the Work to Gather Updated Emissions Inventory Data and Performing Updated Air Quality Modeling as Necessary Which Are Required as Part of the Detailed Sips for Meeting Ambient Air Quality Standards and Regional Haze. Sesarm Will Facilitate Providing Needed Technical Training for State/local Air Agency Staff and Provide Member Support for Hosting Various Meetings and Travel/training Expenses. Outcomes Will Include Reduced Risks of Exposure to Harmful Pollutants Within the 10 States Served by Sesarm, Improved Public Health, Improved Visibility in Class I Areas, Other Rural Areas, and Urban Areas in the Southeast, and Better Management of Air Quality in the Cities, Counties, Metropolitan Areas, States, and Airsheds in the Ten States. Secondary Outcomes of the Work Associated With This Grant Will Be Better Trained and Informed Staff of the Member Agencies and Improved Communications and Collaboration With Epa as Air Quality Management Programs Are Jointly Implemented at the Local, State, and Federal Levels. Direct Beneficiaries Include Citizens That Live and Work in the 10 Southeastern Member States Who Will Have Decreased Exposure to Criteria and Hazardous Air Pollutants.
