Description:this Action Approves an Award in the Amount of $2,378,514.00 to American Lung Association. the Project Will Replace 14 Diesel Refuse Haulers and 4 Additional Diesel Refuse Haulers. the Project Will Involve Replacement of Diesel Refuse Haulers With a Combination of Low-nox CNG Refuse Haulers and Zero-emission Electric Refuse Haulers. the Project Will Reduce Emissions of Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5), Nitrogen Oxide (nox), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), and Volatile Organic Compounds (vocs). Project Will Include the Counties of Winder, Georgia; Palm Beach, and Hobe Sound, Florida.activities:the Activities Involve the Replacement of 14 Diesel Refuse Haulers With 14 Optional Low-nox Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Refuse Haulers for Waste Management (WM) and the Replacement of 4 Diesel Refuse Haulers With 4 Zero-emission Electric Refuse Haulers for Republic Services, Inc. (republic). the Replacement of 13 Diesel Refuse Haulers With 13 Optional Low-nox CNG Refuse Haulers, as Well as the Replacement of 1 Diesel Refuse Hauler With 1 Electric Refuse Hauler, as Well as One Charger.subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Anticipated Deliverables Include the Following: Phase One Will Include Replacement of 13 Diesel Refuse Haulers With 13 Optional Low-nox CNG Refuse Haulers, and the Replacement of 1 Diesel Refuse Hauler With 1 Electric Refuse Hauler Including One Charger. Should Additional Funding Become Available, Phase Two Will Be Completed Including Replacement of 1 Diesel Refuse Hauler With a CNG Refuse Hauler and Replacement of 3 Diesel Refuse Haulers With 3 Electric Refuse Haulers Including Three Chargers. the Expected Outcomes Include Reducing Emissions That Cause Climate Change, Improve Air Quality and Reduce Localized Pollution and Health Impacts. Voluntary Reduction of Emissions From Participating Diesel Fleets Will Serve to Reduce Local and Regional Air Pollution of Criteria Pollutants, Air Toxics and GHGS. the Intended Beneficiaries Include Local Communities Living in and Near Winder, Ga; Palm Beach, FL; and Hobe Sound, FL by Reducing Local and Regional Air Pollution Including Criteria Pollutants and Air Toxics. All Communities Will Benefit From Reducing GHGS to Address the Climate Crises.
