Description:this Action Approves an Award in the Amount of $2,499,912 to the New Orleans Community Support Foundation, Louisiana, to Support Their Efforts With Improving the Water Quality of the Gulf of Mexico. the Purpose of This Award Is to Raise Environmental Awareness, Strengthen Community Resilience, and Improve Water Quality Using Green Infrastructure Practices. Activities:the Activities to Be Performed Include Developing and Administering a Competitive Subaward Program and Providing Technical Assistance to Communities Adversely and Disproportionately Affected by Environmental and Human Health Harms or Risks. Community-led Environmental Justice Projects Will Be Implemented to Advance Green Infrastructure Practices, Reduce Water Pollution and Flooding, and Improve the Watershed's Health. Subrecipient:subrecipient Activities Will Be Funded to Implement Competitively Selected Projects That Focus on the Key Areas of Water Quality, Habitat Restoration, Community Resilience, and Green Infrastructure Practices in Underserved and Underrepresented Communities.outcomes:anticipated Deliverables and Expected Outcomes Include Awarding Up to 18 Subawards of Varied Amounts. a Minimum of 2,000 Citizens Will Be Reached Through Education and Outreach Activities, at Least 8 Water Segments or Water Bodies Will Be Improved, and a Minimum of 10 Communities Will Be Educated and Trained on Adopting Resiliency Practices. There Will Be an Increase in the Number of Individuals Who Gain a Better Understanding of Environmental Issues in Their Community, and the Resiliency of Southeast Louisiana Communities Will Be Increased. the Residents and Underserved Communities in Southeast Louisiana Will Benefit From Improved Water Quality and Increased Community Resilience.
