The Purpose of This American Rescue Plan Funded Cooperative Agreement Is to Provide Funding to Seattle-king County Department of Public Health to Develop an Innovative Approach to Advance Environmental Justice and Address Systemic Racism Related to Housing During the COVID-19 Pandemic. the Key Objective of the Program Is to Build Community Capacity Around Virtual Indoor Air Quality and Healthy Home Assessments Using a Holistic Approach, With the Intention to Also Identify Recommendations for Sustainable and Equitable Solutions. Activities to Be Performed Include: 1) Development of a Culturally Relevant Community Health Worker (CHW) Training Program for Conducting Virtual Home Assessments, 2) Recruitment and Training of Approximately 14 Community Health Workers, and 3) Virtual Home Assessments of Rental and Multi-family Housing in South Seattle and South King County - Communities That Have Long-standing Health Disparities Related to Air Quality and Poor Housing Conditions.
