Description:this Action Approves Funding in the Amount of $293,896 to the Miccosukee Corporation for a New Performance Partnership Grant to Fund the Operation of the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida (MTIF) Continuing Environmental Programs While Giving It Greater Flexibility to Address Its Highest Environmental Priorities, Improve Environmental Performance, Achieve Administrative Savings and Strengthen the Partnership Between Mtif and the Environmental Protection Agency. This Agreement Funds Tribal Programs for: Water Quality, Non-point Source Pollution, and Pesticides Programs. This Award Includes $125,000 in Clean Water Act 319 Competitive Funding Awarded as a Part of This New Award Funding Action.activities:activities Related to Water Pollution Control (cwa 106), Nonpoint Source Management (cwa 319), and Pesticides Program Implementation (fifra Section 23(A)(2) Will Include: Elimination of the Pepper Tree and Prevention of Reestablishment of the Tree on the Eastern Side of the Miccosukee Cattle Pastures, Spot Treat (and Mechanically Treat in More Dense Areas) the Brazilian Pepper With a Mixture of Triclopyr and a Surfactant in Three Main Areas; Additionally, Treatments at the Little Trail Community, Triangle Pad and Bullseye Will Help Control the Brazilian Pepper Population on the Miccosukee Reservation. in Addition, They Will Continue Development of Water Quality Standards, Quality Assurance Project Plan for Water Quality, Macroinvertebrate Study, Permit Issuance Program, Interagency Coordination and Collaboration, (participate in Meetings Relating to Water Resources and Restoration Projects on Tribal Lands and in the Everglades Ecosystem), Host 2-4 Interagency Meetings Relating to Tribal Everglades and the Greater Everglades Ecosystem, Attend Local and Non-local Training Courses, Conferences, And/or Workshops, Provide Epa With a Status Report Containing the Following, Provide Epa With Updated Work Plans and Budgets for FY25 Section 106 Grant, Community Outreach, Provide Assistance for the Miccosukee Everglades Study Program and Community Festivals (freedom Festival/american Indian Day Festival/big Mama's Earth Day) Through Active Participation and Providing Supplies for Community Outreach, Install Flashboard Risers Between the Drainage Ditches and the L-28 Canal Where the Highest Amount of Flow and Nutrient Occur, and Installation of Floating Booms to Control and Contain Invasive Aquatic Plants From Impairing Water Flow and Quality in the Drainage Ditches. Subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:deliverables Will Include Before and After Photos of Drainage Ditches With Biannual Reports, Before and After Photos of Containment Booms With Biannual Reports, Summary Reports on Regional Restoration Projects, Removal of Invasive Species on Tribal Lands, Prevention of Invasive Species From Establishing Along New Fence Line on Tribal Lands, Prevention of Seed Source of Invasive Species From Establishing on Treated Area, Prevention of Mosquito Establishment by Planting Repelling Vegetation, Updated Qapp With Specific Language That Enhances Data Validation Through Accuracy and Precision Checks, a Consistent Tribal-wide Methodology for Delineating Optimal Habitat Conditions for Macroinvertebrate in Wetlands, an Updated Assessment of a Critical Component of the Tribe's Water Quality Standards, Issuance/denial/waiver of 401 WQ Certifications.
