Description:this Agreement Provides Funding Under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) to Montana State University. the Recipient Will Provide Technical Assistance (e.g., Information, Training, Tools) to Businesses to Help Them Develop and Adopt Source Reduction Practices (also Known as Pollution Prevention (P2)). P2 Means Reducing or Eliminating Pollutants From Entering Any Waste Stream or Otherwise Being Released Into the Environment Prior to Recycling, Treatment, or Disposal. P2 Practices Can Help Businesses Save Money by Reducing Their Resource Use, Expenditures, Waste and Liability Costs, While at the Same Time Reducing Their Environmental Footprint and Helping to Protect Human Health and the Environment. Funding of This Proposal Will Continue to Partner With the Montana Manufacturing Extension Center (MMEC) and Last Best Planet (LBP) to Deliver P2 Technical Assistance and Training to the Food and Beverage Manufacturing and Processing Industry to Reduce Toxic Air Emissions, Water and Energy Usage, and Hazardous Materials Generation/use, While Helping Montana's Small Businesses Save Money. Msu Will Help Small Businesses Save Money While Promoting Sustainability. They Will Work With All Communities, Including Sovereign Nations and Other Disadvantaged Populations, Through the Following Projects: - the Ecostar Leadership Award Will Continue Honoring Small Businesses to Promote Their Work Reducing GHG Emissions, Water/energy Usage and Hazardous Material Generation/ Use. Technical Assistance (TA) Will Be Given to the Awardees Along With Implementation Grants to Encourage Action on Ta Findings. - the Sustainable Brewery Certification (SBC) Will Roll Out a Mobile Toolkit, Self-assessment How-to-guide, Utility Calculator and Best Practice Webinar and Commence Certifying Breweries. - Msu Will Partner With the Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC) to Co-host a Region 8,9,10 P2 Roundtable. - the MTP2.ORG Website Will Serve as a Critical P2 Resource Offering Online Content Including Webinars and Relevant P2 Knowledge, News, and Events. These MTP2 Projects Will Collectively Improve Human Health and Environmental Quality in Rural, Non-rural, and Tribal Communities by Reducing Toxic Emissions and Hazardous Waste, and Conserving Water and Energy. - P2 Library a Physical Library of Over 30K Entries for All Things P2 That Will Be Taken Online and Updated to Offer the Most Recent P2 Resources, Including Best Practices (BPS), Case Studies and More. - Tek P2 Framework - in FY25 MTP2 Will Hold a Native Summit on Air Quality in Indian Country to Inspire and Offer Leadership in Creating the Native Science Advisor Role.
