Description:the Purpose of This Award Is to Provide Funding to the Blackfeet Tribe to Conduct a Project to Improve the Management of Hazardous Waste. Activities:as Part of This Project, the Blackfeet Tribe Will Update an Inventory of Hazardous Waste Generators and Disposal Activities Within the Reservation; Coordinate a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event; Install Three to Five Additional Used Oil Collection Containers on the Reservation; and Performing Public Education and Outreach Activities That Will Include Outreach Through the Local Paper, Cable Station, Radio Station, and the Internet Regarding the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event. They Will Work With the Local School District Science Classes, Both College and Secondary Schools, as Well as Other Small and Large Hazardous Waste Generators on the Blackfeet Reservation, on the Proper Collection and Disposal of Hazardous Waste.subrecipient:no Subawards Are Included in This Assistance Agreement.outcomes:the Activities Under This Project Will Benefit and Protect Public Health on the Blackfeet Reservation by Improving Hazardous Waste Management on the Reservation, and Result in a Cleaner, Healthier, Environment. Deliverables Include: Inventory of Hazardous Waste Sources on the Reservation, 3-5 New Used Oil Collection Sites, and Education and Outreach Materials. Outcomes Will Include Better Management of Used Oil, Reduction of Household Hazardous Waste Being Improperly Disposed of, and Improved Hazardous Waste Management Compliance Within the Local Schools and Very Small Quantity Generators, Such as Junkyards, on the Reservation.
