Description: This American Rescue Plan-funded Grant Will Support Blacks in Green's Efforts to Develop a Community-directed Lead-free Water Project. Project Activities Will Include Public Education, Residential Lead-in-water Testing, Creating Access to In-home Water Filtration Systems, and Identifying Lead Service Lines. the Recipient Will Also Develop a Community-directed Water Quality Justice Action Group to Provide Ongoing Public Education About Water Quality and Trades in Water Safety Installation. the Intended Beneficiaries of This Project Are the Citizens of the Woodlawn and Chatham Neighborhoods in Chicago, Illinois. Activities: Phase 1 the Recipient Will Engage in Planning and Recruitment. Phase 2 Engage in Community Outreach. Phase 3 Continued Education, Training, Water Sampling, and Surveying. Phase 4 Perform Survey Analysis and Sustainability Planning During the Project's Final Stage, . Outcomes: the Outcomes of the Project Include: a Project Workplan, Bi-weekly Chicago Black Water Council Water Quality Justice Action Group Meetings, the Development of Outreach Materials and the Completion of the Water Station/countertop/sink-kit Installations, Water Sampling, Evaluation Plan, and Survey Analysis.
