This Agreement Will Provide Funding for the Washington County Community Development Agency to Inventory, Characterize, Assess, and Conduct Cleanup Planning and Community Involvement Related Activities for Brownfield Sites in the City of Forest Lake, City of ST. Paul Park, and City of Newport, Minnesota. Grant Funding Will Be Initially Allocated to the Identified Target Areas of Downtown Forest Lake, the City of ST. Paul Park and Us 61 Western Frontage Roads in Newport. These Target Areas Are a Mix of Residential/commercial/industrial Neighborhoods Dating Back 100+ Years That Have Been Subject to Recent Economic and Planning Efforts. Each Target Area Has Brownfields Located Within and Adjacent to Residential Areas That Have Significant Minority, Sensitive, and Economically Disadvantaged Population Groups. Brownfields Are Real Property, the Expansion, Development or Reuse of Which May Be Complicated by the Presence or Potential Presence of a Hazardous Substance, Pollutant, or Contaminant. the Purpose of the Brownfields Assessment Coalition Grant Is for Three or More Eligible Entities to Work Together on a Minimum of Five Hazardous Substance And/or Petroleum Sites. Activities Include Inventory and Site Prioritization, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (esas), Phase Ii Esas, Remedial Action Plan (rap), and Remedial/reuse Planning, and Community Outreach and Involvement. Deliverables and Outcomes Include: Geographic Information System (GIS) Data Entry and Mapping, Documents Such as Eligibility Determinations and Property Access Agreements, Quality Assurance Project Plan (qapp), Quarterly and Final Reports, Outreach Documents, Etc. This Project and All the Activities Related to It Will Ultimately Benefit the People of Washington County, MN.
