This Agreement Provides Assistance to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) to Implement Its Project to Support the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) to Protect and Restore the Chemical, Physical, and Biological Integrity of the Great Lakes Basin Ecosystem. Specifically, Mpca Will Characterize Contaminated Sediment by Conducting Sampling and Analysis at the Thomson Reservoir. This Activity Will Address the Beneficial Use Impairment (BUI) Removal of Restrictions of Dredging in the ST. Louis River Area of Concern (AOC) and Delisting This Aoc. Note That the Header of This Award Captions It as a Grant Agreement Whereas It Is a Cooperative Agreement, and the Header of the Programmatic Conditions Details on Page 5 Should More Accurately Identify Cooperative Agreement Components. Epa Is Implementing a New Grant System That Will Soon Be Undergoing Enhancements to Allow for More Accurate Descriptions.
