Description:the Agreement Provides Funding to the Connecticut Maritime Foundation. Specifically, the Recipient Will Replace the Existing Tier 0 (unregulated) Propulsion Engines and Auxiliary Generator Set Engines in a Single Tugboat With Two Tier 4 Certified Propulsion Engines and Two Tier 3 Certified Auxiliary Generator Sets. the Vessel Provides Dry Bulk Barge Service Between Boston, Providence, New Haven and Two New York Ports. the Recipient Will Issue a Subaward Agreement With Dann Marine, Owner of the Tug, M/V Sapphire Coast. the Project Is Anticipated to Reduce Lifetime Emissions or Particulate Matter by 38.26 Tons and Lifetime Emissions of Nitrogen Oxides by 2,796.9 Tons. Beneficiaries Include the Coastal Communities in Proximity to the Ports of Boston, Massachusetts, Providence, Rhode Island, New Haven, Connecticut and Areas of New York. Activities:the Activities Include Replacing the Existing Tier 0 (unregulated) Propulsion Engines and Auxiliary Generator Set Engines in a Single Tugboat With Two (2) Tier 4 Certified Propulsion Engines and Two (2) Tier 3 Certified Auxiliary Generator Sets. the Vessel Is Owned and Operated by Dann Marine Towing and Services the Boston, Ma Providence, Ri, New Haven, CT and New York Areas. the Project Will Be Administered by the Recipient, the Connecticut Maritime Foundation, Inc.subrecipient:the Connecticut Maritime Foundation Will Also Issue a Subaward to Dann Marine That Incorporates All the Required Grant Terms and Conditions. the Subaward Will Include a Detailed Performance Plan (example Provided) That Outlines Dann Marine's Requirements to Ensure the Project Is Completed in a Timely Fashion and in Compliance With the Grant. Dann Marine Will Arrange for and Procure Any Marine Architect or Engineering Services Required to Accomplish the Replacement and Maintain Compliance With the Grant. Dann Marine Will Also Coordinate With the U.s. Coast Guard for Vessel Approval and Commissioning After Replacement as Appropriate and Necessary, Arrange for Shipyard Services, Dry Dockage and Other Services Required for Removal of the Old Engines and Installation of the New Engines.outcomes:two (2) Epa Tier 4 Certified Propulsion Engines and 2 Epa Tier 3 Certified Auxiliary Generator Sets Purchased and Installed on 1 Tugboat. Additional Deliverables/outputs Include: New Additional Equipment Necessary for the Repower to Be Purchased; Project Briefing Summary Posted on the Foundation's Website and Made Available to Clean Air Northeast to Post on Their Website; Dann Marine Fleet-wide Annual Emission Inventory Update and Development of an Air Quality Management Plan; the Foundation to Engage Stakeholders Through Social Media and One or More Targeted Briefings And/or Webinars; Dann Marine to Add a Page to Their Website Including Emission Reduction Strategies and a Clear Point of Contact; Dann Marine to Engage in Shore Power Discussions With One or More Customers. Annual Emission Reductions: 2.058 Tons Particulate Matter; 142.7 Tons Nitrogen Oxides; 1.336 Tons Hydrocarbons; 5.826 Tons Carbon Monoxide; 180.2 Tons Carbon Dioxide (fuel Based); 4,939 Tons of Black Carbon (BC); 16,016 Gallons Fuel Saved. Lifetime Emission Reductions: 38.26 Tons PM2.5; 2,796.9 Tons Nox. Capital Cost-effectiveness (propulsion Engines): $ 199,519 Per Ton of PM2.5; $ 1,543 Per Ton of Nox. Intended Beneficiaries Include the Coastal Communities and Underserved Communities in Boston, Ma, Providence, Ri, New Haven, CT and Two Ports in New York.
