This Agreement Will Provide Funding for Northeastern Vermont Development Association to Inventory, Characterize, Assess, and Conduct Cleanup Planning and Community Involvement Related Activities for Brownfield Sites in the City of Newport, Town of Lyndon, and Town of ST. Johnsbury in the Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans Counties in the State of Vermont. Brownfields Are Real Property, the Expansion, Redevelopment, or Reuse of Which May Be Complicated by the Presence or Potential Presence of a Hazardous Substance, Pollutant, or Contaminant. the Project Will Focus on Priority Sites in 1) Lyndon's Downtown Core, Comprised of Depot Street and Main Street, Was Once a Thriving Commercial and Industrial Center. 2) ST. Johnsbury's Six Catalyst Sites Along Main Street 3) Newport's Main Street Including a Block of Vacant Buildings in the City Center That Were Removed in 2015 for a Major Redevelopment Project.
