Description:clean Water Fund's (CWF'S) Lead Pipe Inventory and Public Engagement Project Will Operate in Two Phases. Phase I Will Focus on Chelsea and Malden, Massachusetts, Whose Efforts to Address the Problem of Lead Service Lines (LSLS) in Drinking Water Are Underway. in Phase Ii, Work Will Be Initiated in 2-3 Additional Target Communities in Massachusetts.activities:expected Activities Include: (1) Providing Multilingual, Culturally Competent Education About the Health Impacts of Lead and Drinking Water and Steps That Individuals Can Take to Reduce Exposure Before the Source Itself Is Remediated; (2) Conducting LSL Assessments in Collaboration With Municipalities Using Customer-initiated Line Checks Followed by Confirmation by the City; (3) Identifying Eligible Customers to Take Advantage of Available Assistance Money and Do Targeted Outreach to That Population. Subrecipient:subaward Activities Include Participating in Meetings With Clean Water Fund, the City of Chelsea, and Community Stakeholders; Recruiting Participants for Meetings; Providing Translation Services During Events; and Creating and Translating Lead Outreach Materials. Outcomes:this Project Will Lead to Improved Outcomes in General Awareness of the Prevalence of Lead in Drinking Water, Increased Equity Through Multilingual and Culturally Competent Materials and Programming, and Improved LSL Inventories. the Intended Beneficiaries Include the Community Members of Chelsea, Malden, and Additional Target Ej Communities in Massachusetts.
