● Lobbying efforts to improve and secure final passage of the FISHES Act (H.R. 5103/S.4262) to streamline the MSA federal fishery disaster processes; provide feedback to Hill staff on related H.R. 10010; Provide feedback/recommendations to the GAO on improvements to the MSA fishery disaster assistance process ● Help develop national seafood industry letter opposing marine monument designations; provide opportunity for Client to sign ● Hill staff discussions on MSA/ESA/MMPA reforms; review MSA stock assessment prioritization language; nominations for NOAA positions; provide feedback to Hill staff on octopus-related legislation ● Attend/report to Client on NOAAs October 2024 CCC meeting; engage with NOAA staff on fisheries-related issues ● Provide Client with analysis of NOAAs 2023 MMPA SARs; monitor status of NOAAs NSG proposed rule; provide information on NOAAs MSA data confidentiality final rule & Seafood Strategy Implementation Plan; track Chumash Sanctuary nomination process ● Monitor congressional hearings/markups/CR/NDAA/USCG reauthorization legislation for any ocean-related issues and report to Client; track offshore wind issues for Client ● Provide Client with information/strategic advice on federal port infrastructure grants
