Lobbying in support of legislation to improve health and benefits services available to wounded, ill, and injured veterans including the Major Richard Star Act (H.R. 1282, S. 344), to provide concurrent receipt to military medical retirees with combat-related injuries; the Honoring Our PACT Act (H.R. 3967), to improve health care and benefits for veterans exposed to toxic substances; the Brian Neuman/Mark O'Brien Department of Veterans Affairs Clothing Allowance Improvement Act of 2021 (H.R.4772, S. 2513), to improve the VA clothing allowance program for veterans with static disabilities; the COST of War Act (S. 3003), to improve health care and benefits for veterans exposed to toxic substances; the Wounded Warrior Access Act (H.R. 5916), to allow for the electronic request of certain veterans records; the Post-9/11 Veterans' Mental Health Care Improvement Act (S. 3293), to expand access to VA mental health care; MAMMO for Veterans Act (S.2533/H.R. 4794), to improve mammography services furnished by the Department of Veterans Affairs; Long-Term Care Veterans Choice Act (S. 2852), to authorize the VA Secretary to enter into contracts and agreements for the payment of care in non-VA medical foster homes for certain veterans who are unable to live independently; Servicemembers and Veterans Empowerment and Support Act of 2021 (S. 2102/H.R. 4571), to expand health care and benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs for military sexual trauma; VA Peer Support for Survivors of Military Sexual Trauma (H.R. 2724), to establish a peer support program for MST survivors; the Health Care for Burn Pit Veterans Act (S. 3541/H.R. 6659), to improve health care and services for veterans exposed to toxic substances; the Elizabeth Dole Home and Community Based Services for Veterans and Caregivers Act (H.R. 6823), to provide better coordination of and access to VA long term care programs for disabled veterans; the STRONG Veterans Act (H.R. 6411), to expand access to VA mental health care and improve the Veterans Crisis Line; and the 9-8-8 and Parity Assistance Act (H.R. 7232), to improve access to suicide prevention services.
