● Continue to provide Client with information related to federal passenger safety legislative provisions related to the NTSB accident report on the Conception CA dive boat; provide ongoing information re: USCG interim rule related to updated safety requirements post-accident. Monitoring of related developments in the House 2022 USCG Authorization legislation ● Continue monitoring and reporting on fisheries and oceans-related legislation/initiatives including the Executive Order #14008 on climate impacts to fisheries and the 30x30 conservation provision ● Monitoring and reporting on 1st Qtr House hearing to reauthorize the Magnuson Stevens Fishery Conservation & Management Act (HR 4690/HR 59) ● Monitor USCG West Coast Port Access Route Study and report to Client ● Monitor NOAA/NMFS activities and congressional legislative efforts to address Marine Mammal Protection Act actions regarding whale migration and protection measures ● Monitor and report on MARAD Jones Act waivers granted to foreign-flagged small passenger vessels home-ported in California. Monitor Coast Guard development of electronic chart and navigational equipment regulations. Monitor and report on changes to merchant mariner sexual assault/sexual harassment procedures and protections contained in House/Senate MARAD and Coast Guard authorization bills Tracking of CA oil spill investigation by the Coast Guard Monitor virtual NOAA CCC meeting on ESA/fisheries issues and report to Client Monitor USCG, NOAA, & USFWS regulatory actions with potential impact on West Coast marine recreational fisheries Monitor Coast Guard development of electronic chart and navigational equipment regulations. Monitor and report on changes to merchant mariner sexual assault/sexual harassment procedures and protections contained in House/Senate MARAD and Coast Guard authorization bills
