S. 282, Arctic Refuge Protection Act, all provisions -This bill designates approximately 1,559,538 acres of land within Alaska in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) as a component of the National Wilderness Preservation System. H.R. 815, Arctic Refuge Protection Act, all provisions -This bill amends Public Law 115-97 (commonly known as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act) to repeal the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge oil and gas program, and to preserve the Arctic coastal plain of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Alaska, as wilderness in recognition of its extraordinary natural ecosystems and for the permanent good of present and future generations of Americans. H.R. 279, S. 877, Roadless Area Conservation Act, all provisions -To provide lasting protection for inventoried roadless areas within the National Forest System. H.R. 3684 - Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act -Alaska Wilderness League Action opposed section 40401(d) and supported amendment 2542 from Senate Markey to strip the language: Markey Amendment 2542 strikes Sec. 40401(d) Loan Guarantees For Certain Alaska Natural Gas Transportation Projects and Systems, which would change the law to allow federal loan guarantees of approximately $25 billion dollars[1] to prop up the failing Alaska LNG Project, a $39 billion scheme to export North Slope natural gas to Asia and other foreign markets. H.R. 4502 -- Fiscal Year 2022 Labor-HHS-Education, Agriculture-Rural Development-FDA, Energy-Water, Financial Services and General Government, Interior-Environment, Military Construction-VA, Transportation-Housing and Urban Development Minibus -Alaska Wilderness League Action supported 1 provision in underlying bill: The Tongass provision (Sec. 437 of Interior-Environment) would end taxpayer subsidies for any roadbuilding activity including design, study or construction of roads for logging in the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska. For decades, the timber industry in the Tongass has quietly benefited from hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer subsidies, much of it covering costs associated with building logging roads that serve no public benefit. H.R. 5376 - Build Back Better Act -Alaska Wilderness League Action supports section 71201 in the underlying bill: The section repeals the Arctic Refuge oil and gas program and cancel the leases issued under that program.
