- Safer Detention Act, legislation to expand elderly home confinement and compassionate release eligibility within the Bureau of Prisons (note, this is slightly different than the covid-19 safer detention act and it's being introduced today, 4/20/23) - EQUAL Act, a bill to eliminate the sentencing disparity between crack and powder cocaine - HALT Fentanyl Act (HR 467)- bill places fentanyl-related substances as a class into schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act - PROTECT Act (S. 353) - a bill that would make the sentencing guidelines mandatory for crimes involving child abuse materials - Stop CSAM Act - a bill that would potentially lengthen sentences and expand criminal liability for crimes involving child sexual abuse materials - Protect and Serve Act (H.R. 743) - bill creating new federal crime for assault of a law enforcement officer with high penalties (oppose) - Appropriations advocacy to rescind funding for a proposed federal prison in eastern Kentucky (no specific bill) - H.J.Res.26 - disapproval resolution to block DC's revised criminal code act (we advocated against this)
