Government Issues

SSLC advocates legislation to accelerate implementation of shared services business models in the Federal Government to streamline and consolidate duplicative administrative functions and improve government efficiency and effectiveness. Most of our activity has been educational to inform Members and staff about the value proposition and challenges in implementing shared services based on actual experience of leaders in the private sector and other government entities. SSLC advocated specific language be included in the Modernizing Government Technology Act of 2017, H.R. 2227, to authorize modernization investments for technologies serving multiple government agencies. SSLC recommended private sector experts for invitations to participate in the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee's 2017 Shared Services Roundtable, and has offered ideas and text for potential legislation to accelerate the government's implementation of shared services.
