Advocated for FY25 funding in the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies appropriations bill for DOJ Bureau of Justice Assistance grant programs, including the Wrongful Conviction Review program for grants to local innocence organizations to exonerate persons who have been wrongfully convicted, and the Kirk Bloodsworth Post-Conviction DNA Testing Grant program that provides states and localities with grants to provide access to post-conviction DNA testing in cases of likely innocence and to review and correct system errors in this area; and forensic science research to validate forensic science techniques to increase their reliability and accuracy at the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) at the Dept. of Commerce.
