â--� Draft and submit formal comments to USFWS related to exempting squid products from USFWS export inspection requirements â--� Meet with EPA staff to provide feedback on ballast water management practices in the commercial fishing industry â--� Work with Hill staff on S.496/H.R. 1240 to make legislative improvements to the Young Fishermen Act of 2019 â--� Continue to engage Hill staff to oppose the Shark Fin Trade Elimination Act of 2019 (S.737/H.R. 614); continue to seek support for alternative legislation H.R. 788; assist client colleague with testimony and staff with hearing preparation â--� Provide Hill staff with background materials on right whale conservation ahead of legislative hearing â--� Meet with Hill staff to discuss preventing efforts to circumvent the authorizing committee process (i.e. Transportation Committee) to amend current law to allow large West Coast vessels to enter Mid-Atlantic trawl fisheries that would otherwise be prohibited from entering East Coast fisheries â--� Provide feedback to Hill staff as follows: support H.R. 1149 & H.R. 1568; oppose Antiquities Act of 2019; support House letter opposing Japans resumption of commercial whaling; support House letter on ocean acidification
