Support Republican Study Committee Budget Proposal for FY 2024.The proposal would balance the budget in seven years, cut spending by $16.3 Trillion over 10 years, and reduce taxes by $5.1 Trillion over 10 years. Support H.R. 2811, Limit, Save Grow Act of 2023, which would increase the federal debt limit and decrease spending. Support H.J. Res. 88, which is a congressional disapproval vote on the Department of Education rule relating to income driven repayments for the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program and the Federal Family Education Loan Program. Support House Appropriations Chairwoman Grangers fiscal responsibility plan that would limit new spending to the Fiscal Year 2022 topline level and claw back $115 billion in unnecessary government programs. Support H.R. 3746, Fiscal Responsibility Act which would rein in inflationary spending and claw back unspent COVID-19 relief funds. The legislation modernizes permitting of certain energy projects. Support House FY 24 Labor, HHS, and Education Appropriations bill, which reduces spending and includes provisions to prevent the administration from implementing regulations in development concerning independent contractors and joint employers.

We lobbied against the President's student loan forgiveness program arguing it was an unconstitutional executive overreach. We supported H.J. Res. 45, a joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval of the rule submitted by the Department of Education relating to "Waivers and Modifications of Federal Student Loans" We supported S.J. Res. 22, a joint resolution that would nullify the rule issued by the Department of Education on October 12, 2022, that suspends federal student loan payments and discharges debt.
