Budget/Appropriations

-H.R. 5860, Continuing Appropriations Act, 2024 and Other Extensions Act, support passage. -H.R. 6363, Further Continuing Appropriations and Other Extensions Act, support passage. -Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2024, support funding for epilepsy programs and research including at least $11.5 million for the CDCs Epilepsy program, $164 million for the Safe Motherhood and Infant Health program, $51 billion for the NIH, $10 million to start considering an epilepsy-related research and clinical consortium at the NIH, $5 million for the National Neurological Conditions Surveillance System and increased funding for the Social Security Administration. -Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2024, support at least $19 million for the VA Epilepsy Centers of Excellence. -Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2024, support $3.963 billion for the Food & Drug Administrations BA. -Defense Appropriations Act, 2024, support robust funding for epilepsy-related research through the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs.

-S. 652/H.R. 2630, Safe Step Act, support passage. -S. 1375/H.R. 830, HELP Copays Act, support passage. -S. 1339, PBM Reform Act, support patient-centric reforms including addition of the Safe Step Act and HELP Copays Act. H.R. 2880, Protecting Patients Against PBM Abuses Act -Support preservation of the Six Protected Classes policy in Medicare Part D. -Support patient-centric implementation of Medicare Part D out-of-pocket cap and smoothing. -Educate about Medicaid and CHIP unwinding to try and reduce coverage losses. -H.R. 485, Protecting Health Care for All Patients Act, support passage. -Ensure any regulation of CBD protects safe and legal access. -Ensure continued access to epilepsy medications that are controlled substances considering potential changes to prescribing via telehealth. -Support implementation and oversight of the mental health parity law to ensure parity of insurance coverage between medical and mental health -Requests to join the Congressional Epilepsy Caucus. -H.R. 824, the Telehealth Benefit Expansion for Workers Act, oppose passage. -Support adding epilepsy to the Healthy People 2030 objectives
