S.179/H.R.651 - COMPOST Act BASF supports policies to promote advanced recycling and composting and to improve and enhance recovery and recycling infrastructure, rather than ban or tax certain products. H.R.1158 - Elimination of Future Technology Delays Act of 2023 H.R.1 - Lower Energy Costs Act (includes H.R.1158) Implementation of 2016 reforms to Toxic Substances Control Act (no bills). BASF supports regulatory processes that are science-based, transparent, and stable, as well as increased EPA funding and staffing and increased regulatory efficiency so that safe, sustainable chemistries can reach the market in a timely manner.

H.R.1 - Lower Energy Costs Act. BASF supports permitting reform legislation that, while protecting the environment, will allow timely consideration of infrastructure improvements (transmission, pipelines, etc.) needed to meet clean energy goals in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. H.R.3039 - MARKET CHOICE Act. BASF supports predictable climate protection policies that address all emitting economic sectors, ensure economically feasible and technologically reasonable reduction targets, and encourage the development of technology solutions to achieve further emission reductions. BASF supports the generation and transmission of clean energy (no specific legislation), as well as innovation policy, ARPA-E, RDD&D, and TSCA reform that helps in clean energy generation, technology transition, and climate change mitigation. BASF also supports energy legislation requiring improvements in building codes and incentives for green building and building efficiencies, as well as energy efficiency tax incentives (45L, 179D, 45Q).
