Generally, surface transportation authorization legislation as it affects freight and port related infrastructure legislation, including the PORT Act grant bill (Sen. Wicker) as contained in S.1407 Maritime Authorization and S.1790 NDAA, now Public Law 116-92. Developing infrastructure policy by the administration. Freight and port related grant programs, specifically INFRA, PID and BUILD. Implementation of the Port Infrastructure Development grant program as funded in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of FY19. Advancing planned port terminal improvements and a Port Improvement Development grant application.

Marine/Maritime/Boating/Fisheries

Generally, monitoring Great Lakes maritime issues and advocating for full use of the Harbor Maintenance Trust Fund (HR$ 2440). Implementation of WRDA 2018 (S.2800 and HR8 now law) with respect to the duration of Dredged Material Management Plan development. Ensuring continued use of confined disposal facilities in lieu of open lake placement of sediments and uninterrupted operation of CDFs vis a vis adjoining property. Addressing concerns about Great Lakes pilotage rate setting by the US Coast Guard. Monitoring the drafting of a National Maritime Transportation Strategy and its potential relevance to the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway.
