Joined numerous other agriculture organizations on a letter to the leadership of the Senate Finance Committee in support of Elaine Trevinos nomination to serve as Chief Agricultural Negotiator at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Joined 45 other organizations asking the EPA and Corps of Engineers to extend the short timeframe for disparate industry groups to ally themselves into regional roundtables to address the issue of rewriting the Navigable Waters Protection Rule. Joined numerous organizations on separate letters regarding changes to estate planning provisions and IRS reporting originally included the Build Back Better Act Joined 18 other groups on a letter to the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition & Forestry Committee leadership in support of Rostin Behnam as chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Sent a letter as part of the Water Advocacy Coalition to the EPA and the Corps of Engineers asking for an extension of time in setting up regional roundtables for discussions on Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS). Joined with three other row crop organizations on a letter to the EPA warning that rumored changes to some pesticide labels so late in the planning cycle for the 2022 crop year may wreak havoc for next year's planting season. Provided comments to EPAs Draft Endangered Species Act (ESA) Biological Evaluations for the registration review of clothianidin, imidacloprid and thiamethoxam. Joined 22 other organizations on a letter to House Agriculture Committee leadership regarding the NCC's support for biotechnology. Worked in conjunction with the American Cotton Producers (ACP) Climate Policy Working Group, to file comments on USDAs request for stakeholder feedback from agricultural stakeholders on the creation of a Climate Smart Agriculture and Forestry (CSAF) Partnership Program. Cosigned a letter to Senate Finance Committee and House Ways and Means Committee leadership opposing any last-minute additions of already rejected tax proposals. Joined more than 100 other agriculture and agribusiness organizations on a letter to President Biden expressing concerns with the Mexican governments policy on agriculture biotech and the country's failure to follow a timely, science-based approval process for agriculture biotech traits. Submitted a statement for the hearing record to the House Agriculture Committee addressing cotton logistics and supply chain challenges and costs to cotton merchandisers following a hearing on supply chain challenges in the food and agriculture sector. Submitted comments via The Agriculture Transportation Working Group to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committees hearing on Industry and Labor Perspectives: A Further Look at North American Supply Chain Challenges. Joined members of the Agriculture CEO Council on a letter to President Biden outlining recommendations on immediate policy actions that can be taken to provide relief to the ongoing supply chain challenges facing agriculture. Joined nearly 90 other stakeholders in a series of letters sent to Secretary of Agriculture Thomas Vilsack, EPA Administrator Michael Regan and many agency staff in the chemical safety and pesticide departments. Joined 16 other stakeholders, including several cotton organizations, in signing onto comments regarding EPA's Draft Supplement of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) Integrated Science Assessment for particulate matter (PM). Joined other agriculture and business organizations on a letter to Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden (R-OR) to express opposition to the proposed changes to Subchapter K of the Internal Revenue Code included in the Pass-through Reform Discussion Draft. Joined other agriculture organizations on a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas expressing concern with the recent Proclamation on Suspension of Entry as Immigrants and Nonimmigrants of Certain Additional Persons Who Pose a Risk of Transmitting Coronavirus Disease 2019 Filed comments on EPA's "Assessment for the Reconsideration of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Particulate Matter" with 16 other stakeholders. Joined 30 national and state agricultural organizations on a letter that asks for an extension of 90 days for the comment period on the proposed Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule currently out for public comment. Participated in a conference call with USDA-AMS officials regarding plans to initiate a rulemaking process to update existing EAATM regulations.
