Tlaib - Strengthens servicemember consumer protections with regards to medical debt collections and credit reporting, including prohibiting the collection of medical debt for the first two years and prohibiting debt arising from medically necessary procedures from ever appearing on servicemember credit reports. oAmdt. Rep. Sanchez - blocks any negative credit reporting for a deployed service member regardless of any other circumstances. For example, if service members for any reason under this amendment cease to pay any of their bills, no resulting negative information would be permitted to appear on the credit report. If an active duty deployed servicemember were to open multiple new lines of credit or declare bankruptcy, neither obligation would be reflected on the consumer report. oAmdt. Rep.
