Agriculture

CHN supports H.R.783 the Summer Meals Act of 2021 that would lower the area eligibility test from 50 percent to 40 percent; allow nonprofit and local government agencies to provide meals year around through the Summer Food Service Programs; and allow sites to serve three meals. CHN supports S.853 the WIC Act of 2021 that would extend WIC eligibility through age six or the beginning of kindergarten. CHN supports S.Con.Res 14 Budget Resolution with Reconciliation Instructions. CHN supports H.R. 5305 Continuing Resolution including $28.6B for natural disasters, $6.3 B to resettle Afghan refugees, and $2.5 B to shelter undocumented migrant children. CHN supports the Making Essentials Affordable and Lawful (MEAL) Act, HR2837 which would repeal the ban on an individual with a drug felon conviction from accessing SNAP and TANF Assistance.

Budget/Appropriations

CHN supports protecting programs in the budget critical to low-income and vulnerable people. CHN supports a significant increase in funding for non-defense discretionary programs in the FY22 Budget and Appropriations Bills CHN supports cutting funding for defense discretionary programs in the FY22 Budget and Appropriations Bills CHN supports the American Jobs Plan and the American Families Plan as a path to recovery. CHN supports The Census Improving Data and Enhanced Accuracy (Census IDEA) Act, S.1701 which would ensure that the untested and last-minute changes to the decennial census do not impact its accuracy. CHN supports Census Deadline Extensions Act, S.1267, which would extend the deadline for the Census Bureau to complete its tabulation, and deadline to deliver redistricting data to states to September 30, 2021 CHN supports The Census Federal Advisory Committee on Transparency and Standards (FACTS) Act, S.1584 CHN supports H.R. 5376 Extending Government Funding and Delivering Emergency Assistance Act (BBB) that would provide major investments for families and climate change. CHN supports H.R. 3684 Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act which provides $550 in infrastructure spending. CHN supports the amendment to the NDAA that would have cut Pentagon spending by 1% and used the money to address climate change. CHN supports the NDAA amendment to reallocate $98 M from the Pentagon to fund global vaccine production. CHN supports H.R. 2471, Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2022 which provides addition funding for many human needs programs.
