● Outreach to NOAA staff on status of AK fishery disasters; efforts with Hill staff to improve provisions of the FISHES Act to streamline the federal fishery disaster processes ● Provide detailed review of several bills at Hill staff request including: MAPS Act; BREP Act, Trawl Clarity Act; Resilient Fish Act; and MRIP Reform bill; assist Hill staff with letter drafting; provide Client with opportunity to sign national letter to Congress on anti-trawl legislation ● Advise Client on NOAAs data confidentiality rulemaking and PFMC & NPFMC nominations; continue to monitor developments related to Steller Sea Lion conservation ● Monitor and report to Client on NOAAs CCC meeting; monitor congressional hearings on ocean-related legislation and report to Client ● Communications with Client re: ongoing marine/oceans issues including: status of marine sanctuaries in the region, legislation, MSA/bycatch, the ESA listing of AK salmon, Hill staff changes, MMPA issues; and fishery disaster reform
