● Assist Client to develop comment submission to White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on deregulatory opportunities for the commercial fishing; lobby efforts RE: the proposed transfer of MMPA/ESA duties from NOAA to the USFWS ● Provide information and strategic advice on two Executive Orders related to American seafood (13921) and U.S. maritime power; comment opportunity for BOEMs oil & gas leasing program ● Participate in Hill staff discussions on MSA/ESA/MMPA reforms; provide MMPA reform recommendations; provide draft questions and report on House MSA hearing questions; provide Client with information related to H.R. 3781 and H.R. 3714; provide feedback to Hill staff on impacts of H.R. 3781 ● Monitor and report to Client on the NOAAs CCC spring meeting in New Bedford, MA ● Submit comments on NOAAs stock prioritization process to improve fish stock assessments; provide information on S.1968 ● Monitor congressional hearings on IUU fishing and forced labor in the seafood industry; provide feedback to Hill staff on Senate IUU hearing ● Provide information on tariffs related to US seafood products ● Assist Client with Hill support for USDA surplus seafood purchase request ● Report to Client on the nomination of the NOAA Assistant Administrator; termination of NOAA Advisory Committees; nominations for NOAAs AFAC ● Provide Client with information/advice on port infrastructure grants
