Alcohol and Drug Abuse

Issues related to expanding addiction disorders and co-occurring treatment services in general and with health care reform activities within Congress with emphasis on the Institutions of Mental Disease exclusion in Medicaid, workforce development for substance abuse professionals, parity, preservation of the SAPT block grant,and expanding treatment and prevention services for low-income Americans for substance abuse disorders for comprehensive services that are affordable, provide access, and provide a continum of care based on evidence-based research that are client based, and comparitive effectiveness research to further find effective interventions and treatment for substance abuse and co-occuring disorders.
