Support the For the People Act (H.R. 1 and S. 1) and the Freedom To Vote Act (S. 2747), a democracy reform package which includes a new public matching funds system for funding campaigns, automatic voter registration, establishes independent redistricting commissions, strengthens ethics laws, and strengthens campaign finance laws. Support for an exception to the filibuster rules to pass fundamental voting rights and democracy reforms. Support for voting rights, redistricting, and government ethics legislation. Support the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act (H.R. 4 and S. 4263) legislation to restore voting rights protections previously included in the Voting Rights Advancement Act. Support the Protecting Our Democracy Act (H.R. 5314) to restore the governments system of checks and balances, strengthen accountability and transparency, and protect Americas elections from foreign interference. Support H.R. 51, the DC Admissions Act, to make Washington, DC a state. Support the DISCLOSE Act, to combat the flood of special interest spending in politics. Support Congress ensuring that language is not included in any government funding vehicle that would limit the Securities and Exchange Commissions (SEC) ability to finalize, issue, or implement a rule requiring public companies to disclose their political spending to investors. Support for strengthened engagement with U.S. civil society as part of the Democracy Summit and Year Of Action, including organizing a domestic civil society engagement call, incorporating domestic civil society into small groups/working groups, ensuring transparency of government commitments, conducting post-summit engagement with U.S. civil society, and committing to a more inclusive second summit.
