Issues relating to National Primary Drinking Water Regulations: Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OW-2017-0300) encouraging water systems to innovate and adapt to certified technologies that are proven, safe, affordable and effective and the need for clarity from EPA relating to allowable use of new technologies and materials in drinking water projects. Issues relating to water systems acceptance of trenchless lining technologies that creates barrier from lead contaminants in lead service lines. Issues relating to EPA drinking water program applications that should instruct applicants to provide examples of recent ways they have adopted new, certified drinking water infrastructure materials, technologies & procurement practices and the cost benefits achieved. Issues relating to annual congressional reports from states and localities that explains new methodologies and technologies that have, or will be adopted to remedy public concerns like lead in drinking water and achieves cost-savings. Support provisions in S.3590, Drinking Water Infrastructure Act of 2020, that provide a grant program to public water systems employing new emerging drinking water technologies. Support EPA Final Rule on Guidance Documents, EPA-HQ-OA-2020-0128. Issues relating to the Meeting Summary from the U.S. EPA NDWAC LEAD AND COPPER WORKING GROUP March 25-26, 2014 and determination that a lead service line counts as being replaced when samples collected from that lead service line are ≤ 0.015 mg/L. Issues relating to EPA Region 2 in New Jersey possibly planning to conduct research on lining lead service lines.
