Sign-in is handled by Clerk — email magic link, Google, or X. Pick whichever; you can change later. We don't store passwords.

Tier upgrades (Sleuth → Investigator → Reporter) happen through Stripe Checkout. We don't see your card; Stripe handles all payment data.

Billing portal: from Your Desk, click your account menu → Billing. Cancel any time. We refund prorated within 30 days of charge for annual plans — email hello@receipts.report.

Annual prepay is offered at most tier transitions (Investigator $200/yr vs. $20/mo · Reporter $500/yr vs. $50/mo). Saves you ~17% and locks the price for the year.

Going from a paid tier back to free (Sleuth) doesn't delete your account — saved investigations and watched entities stay. They're just capped at the Sleuth tier limits (1 each) and the extras pause.
